After never quite achieving the height required to be an air hostess, Alison moved into film and television to allow her to follow her dreams to travel the world, make films and meet as many people as possible.

She started off at the BBC in Birmingham and ended up in Sydney working for Film Australia, ABC and SBS where she travelled extensively on location notably to Moree and Canberra. After a stint as a producing student at AFTRS, and more than a decade in the film and television industry Alison somewhat randomly ended up in Adelaide at Flinders University teaching Screen Production.

With research interests that include creativity, screen production pedagogy, bullying interventions, China and gender Alison continues to work as a producer and is now systematically travelling the world.

She is member of the South Australian Film Corporations Educational Content Fund committee, on the executive of CILECT (Centre International de Liaison des Ecoles de Cinma et de Tlvision) Asia Pacific Association, Treasurer of ASPERA (Australian Screen Production Research Association) and on the Advisory Board of IM Interactive Media, E-Journal of the National Academy of Screen and Sound. The net result of all of the above is that she loves to watch the work of emerging film/video makers, has met a vast number of brilliant people across the globe and is excited about all the places and people she has yet to meet.

Alison is looking forward to the positive impact the 60Sox project will have for emergent creative workers in this region.
