Ooh, I hope I'm not too late for this...

My entry for the Landscape Concept Art Competition, based on Mccaskie Park in Kelvin Grove.

Mccaskie Park has some great trees so I wanted to do something with them. Throw in some giant prehistoric lizard carcases and I was sweet to go. The linework took the longest to nail, but from there it was a blat to the end (Ah... that's 2 hours. Yes, I have shonky time management skillz). I created numerous custom brushes along the way which is something I don't normally do, but will keep doing from now on.

There's not much of a background story to this (sorry!) as I was focusing on atmosphere and texture.

cool idea, good depth, i'd try mixing up your colour pallet abit, the old trick of useing complimentary colours in the shadows should make it pop more.

Nice image with a sense of a story, reminds me of dino-crisis. I like the slanted horizon for extra dynamism. Could use a bit more dynamic lighting and highlights

Thanks chaps! I've learned a lot since doing this pic and your comments prove what I suspected I need(ed) to improve! I'm glad I got that sense of story across, and general idea coolness :)
